Pool to purchase General Pool & Spa Supply

Pool to purchase General Pool & Spa Supply in part to strengthen its market presence

COVINGTON, La. (AP) -- Pool Corp. said Monday that it will buy regional swimming pool and spa products distributor General Pool & Spa Supply Inc. in part to strengthen its market presence.

Terms were not disclosed.

Northern California-based General Pool & Spa runs 10 distribution sales center and has about $40 million in annual sales.

The acquisition is targeted to close by the middle of the month and expected to add to 2010 and future earnings.

Pool runs more than 280 sales centers in North America and Europe.
