MESA, Ariz., Nov. 18, 2008 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Great power always comes with a great responsibility and those who wield it are destined to encounter countless obstacles. This is the theme that drives an enduring tale of discovery and adventuring in Through the Chambers of Purgatory, a new book authored by Chuck Morales and released through Xlibris.

Through the Chambers of Purgatory follows the exploits of a young contractor whose passion for his work and his desire to change the world know no bounds. The story begins when he falls in love with a condemned house on a hill that other contractors are afraid of. Soon, an instant reflection from the sun hints of a metallic craft buried deep under the house while excavation takes place to underpin the foundation. It turns out to be a vehicle of unknown origin that can explore the Earth in ways never before imagined by man. The power of such a craft proves tempting and soon many others want a piece of it. How can the contractor handle it and just how long will he possess it? Read the book to find out.

About the Author

Chuck Morales was born and raised in San Francisco; he now lives in Arizona with two Cockatiel birds and a lady cat. This story was born after the purchase of a house on a hill off the California coast. This house was only several years old, but was condemned after an earthquake rocked the area and cracks were discovered on its foundation. After the turmoil of convincing the agent representing the developer that he was qualified to reconstruct the foundation, he purchased the house for $25,000, which was valued at $140,000 before the quake. A geologist and a structural engineer were hired. A house and a story had begun.
