HENDERSON, NEVADA--(Marketwire - 09/17/09) - Rival Technologies Inc. (OTC.BB:RVTI - News) -

As activity in the Alberta oilsands begins the climb back to earlier levels, the management team is developing new business opportunities for the TRU� process in numerous potential SAGD applications.

Recent discussions have identified several additional opportunities where inclusion of the TRU� process would add significant value to the bottom line of these planned SAGD projects. In addition Rival Technologies Inc. has also started negotiations with a large U.S. oil company, details of which will be released in the coming weeks.

Total oil resources worldwide are estimated at roughly 9 to 13 trillion barrels of which 30% are conventional. Oil sands, heavy oil and bitumen make up the remaining unconventional 70%. Before moving from the field to the refinery unconventional resources will need to be upgraded and represent the prime market for the TRU process technology.
