SCOTTSDALE, AZ--(Marketwire - 07/21/09) - Rural/Metro Corporation (NASDAQ:RURL - News) announced today that it has been awarded a new contract term to continue providing fire protection and emergency medical services to the Mountain Vista Fire District in Southern Arizona.
The contract term began July 1, 2009 for an initial period of five years, followed by two 2-year renewal options, for a total possible length of nine years. The contract is expected to generate approximately $2.7 million in net revenue annually.

Mountain Vista Fire District occupies 12 square miles north of Tucson in Pima County, Arizona, and is home to approximately 25,000 residents. The District was formed in 2008 by the merger of North Ranch/Linda Vista Fire District, Heritage Hills Fire District and La Canada Fire District. Rural/Metro Fire Department has served the fire protection and emergency ambulance needs of the area since 1993. Rural/Metro's 45 firefighters assigned to the Mountain Vista Fire District responded to more than 2,700 calls for service in the past year.
