HAUPPAGE, N.Y. (AP) -- Chipmaker Standard Microsystems Corp. said Tuesday it closed its $3.4 million acquisition of electronic design services company Tallika Corp. on Sept. 8.
The company said Tallika's 50 engineers at centers in Chennai, India, and Phoenix, Ariz., offer a broad set of skills, including software development.
SMSC said it expects Tallika to play a significant role in accelerating plans for products.
Shares of SMSC fell 36 cents to $24.35 in afternoon trading.
