TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Nov. 11, 2009) - Sagittarius Capital Corporation (TSX VENTURE:SCX.P - News; "Sagittarius" or the "Company"), a capital pool company, today announced that Mr. Gerry Goldberg had resigned as a director of Sagittarius effective August 2009. Mr. Goldberg's resignation was voluntary and did not involve a disagreement with the Company on any matter relating to the Company's operations, policies or practices. Sagittarius' management team and board members would like to thank Mr. Goldberg for his contributions as a director and they wish him the best of luck with all his future endeavors.
Sagittarius appointed Mr. Adam Szweras to the board to fill the vacancy resulted from Mr. Goldberg's resignation conditional upon approval of the TSX Venture Exchange. Sagittarius is pleased to announce that it has received confirmation from TSX Venture Exchange that Mr. Szweras' appointment to the board has been accepted.
Mr. Szweras has extensive experience in the Canadian capital markets. He is a securities law partner with Fogler, Rubinoff LLP in Toronto as well as a director and co-founder of Foundation Markets Inc., a Toronto-based investment bank. Mr. Szweras joined Fogler, Rubinoff as a partner in 2006 after practicing securities and corporate law with another major Canadian firm. Prior to that he was the managing partner of a Bay Street securities law boutique where he represented public issuers and investment dealers.
