NEW YORK, Oct. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- The Lotto-Max.com Powerball 2nd place jackpot winner, 21/yr old university student, Sarah Ashkenazi of Denton Montana, claims she is still in shock after last weeks winnings. "There's lots of mixed feelings...anxiety, excitement, but most of all just shocking," says Sarah.
Sarah logged into the Lotto Max online lottery website and purchased a $9 Powerball ticket just before going to bed. "Every time I pay bills, I can't sleep at night" says Sarah while explaining how stressful paying for student dorms, books and university fees can be. "It's rather odd, but the numbers I chose actually coincide with the specific amounts owed this month for university dorm and other related school tuition fees".
The numbers drawn Saturday night were: 13-32-45-49-50, Powerball: 30. Sarah matched up five numbers to win Lotto Max's 2nd place powerball jackpot in the amount of $200,000. Sarah's been a loyal Mega millions & Powerball player for the past year, investing an average of $30 a week hoping to win the jackpot. According to her established MySpace profile, she's planning on paying off school loans and buying her ex-boyfriend a new car. "Mike left me about 2 months ago for another girl, but some how we've still remained friends" says Sarah while explaining her decision "He was the first to call and congratulate me".
A second lucky ticket was sold 2 months ago via the Lotto-Max.com official lottery site matched all five white balls, but missed the Powerball number. That ticket also had the Power Play option, tripling the prize to $600,000.
Tickets sold in Vermont, Florida, New Hampshire and Rhode Island also matched the first five numbers, but missed the Powerball, for a $200,000 win. Powerball is played in 29 states, Washington, D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The record jackpot was $365 million won by eight workers at a Nebraska meatpacking plant in February 2006.
The powerball jackpot continues to climb. No one hit the jackpot Saturday, but one lucky ticket holder in Tennessee won $1 million with the Power Play 5X promotion. A total of 101,738 players who purchased the Power Play option had their winnings multiplied 5 times when the number "5" was selected by the Power Play wheel.
