Delivering Highly-Accurate, 24/7 Remote Bulk Inventory Management Solutions
CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Telular Corporation (NASDAQ: WRLS - News), a global leader in wireless communications technology, announced today its newest business unit, TankLink™, expanding its presence into the remote inventory management industry. Formerly known as SupplyNet Communications, TankLink has been a leading supplier of wireless tank level monitoring services to a variety of markets including chemical manufacturing, bulk solids and liquids and many others, for over a decade.
TankLink uses telemetry devices to wirelessly deliver tank levels over both CDMA and GSM networks, to a frequently updated, secure web portal. TankLink’s alarms, reports and timely data allow production managers, suppliers and owners to make efficient and cost-saving replenishment decisions. By providing desktop access to accurate inventory data, TankLink helps increase production and enhance operations by reducing run outs, eliminating emergency deliveries, improving resource planning and much more.
“Telular’s roots are firmly established in the wireless security communications marketplace and we are bringing those years of experience and expertise to TankLink‘s machine-to-machine (M2M) communications solutions,” said Joseph Beatty, president and CEO of Telular. “TankLink solidifies Telular’s M2M portfolio, increasing our industry leadership and providing additional avenues for growth.”
With the launch of TankLink, Telular is also introducing a unique purchasing option for its service and equipment. The new managed service option is modeled on the successful approach many companies have used to provide their solutions on a subscription basis. TankLink’s managed service model bundles professional installation, robust hardware, cellular service and portal access together into an affordable monthly service fee. This purchasing option will make the benefits of monitoring more obtainable by operators of large tank farms where previously the outright purchase of equipment was prohibitively expensive and prevented project approvals.
“There are suppliers of bulk goods who in the past relied on credit for capital expenses and now find it difficult to make purchases that require upfront investment,” said Sam Lucero, practice director, M2M connectivity at ABI Research. “Understanding this, TankLink's managed service program provides a financial solution for those capital-constrained companies looking to improve operational efficiencies and increase productivity with tank level monitoring solutions.”
Backed by Telular Corp. an industry recognized leader in M2M communications for over 20 years, TankLink currently monitors various types of bulk inventory on over 16,000 tanks in the U.S.
