NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire -11/18/11)- The Plaza is thrilled to announce its partnership with Betsey Johnson to decorate the hotel's Christmas tree for the holiday season and introduce the designer's first holiday pop-up shop. The Christmas tree, completely inspired by the precocious heroine of Kay Thompson's 1955 classic book "Eloise," will be the centerpiece of the New York hotel's foyer.

The decidedly Betsey holiday pop-up shop, with plenty of pink and neon, will open November 14 and boast a carefully curated selection of Betsey Johnson's most coveted items, such as perfume, jewelry, outerwear and more, that are perfect for gift giving.

To kick off the holiday season at the famed luxury New York hotel, the duo will host a one-night only 'Tree Lighting Tea' -- sure to become an annual tradition -- in The Palm Court at 5:00 p.m. on November 28. The event will also introduce a new Holiday Tea menu, available through the end of the year, featuring a combination of sweet and savory seasonal items, including a plate for Santa and his reindeer. Children will enjoy the infamous Eloise Tea, featuring bite-size delights, such as Strawberry and Cream Cheese Sandwiches, Pink Pink Jello, and Cold Cold Pink Lemonade, among other items.
