STUDIO CITY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Tix Productions Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Tix Corporation (Nasdaq: TIXC - News), announced that it has signed an agreement to be an Associate Producer on the new musical American Idiot with music by Green Day, lyrics by Billie Joe Armstrong and book by Billy Joe Armstrong and Michael Mayer.

American Idiot opened September 16th and is now playing at the Berkeley Repertory Theatre through November fifteenth. The musical is based upon Green Day’s two-time Grammy award winning album of the same name. This new work features the album in its entirety in addition to drawing upon several new songs from their newest release, 21st Century Breakdown.

The blockbuster cast of American Idiot includes Tony Award winning actor John Gallagher, Jr. and is directed by Michael Mayer, who earned a Tony Award, Drama Desk Award and Outer Critics Circle Award for his direction of Spring Awakening.
