Tri-Continental sets 4.4-cent 3rd-qtr dividend

Tri-Continental sets 3rd-quarter dividend of 4.4 cents per share, payable Sept. 24

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Tri-Continental Corp.'s board of directors said Friday the closed-end investment company will pay a quarterly dividend of 4.4 cents per common share.

The dividend is payable Sept. 24 to shareowners of record on Sept. 14.

A closed-end investment company is a fund with a fixed number of shares outstanding. Tri-Continental is managed by RiverSource Investments LLC, a unit of Minneapolis-based financial adviser Ameriprise Financial Inc.
