LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Tutor Perini Corp. said Tuesday it received two civil construction contracts in New York and is the low bidder for a bridge contract in California.
The construction company said it was awarded a $178 million contract to build permanent bracing for a structural box that will enclose New York City Transit's 1 and 9 subway structure through the World Trade Center site.
It also said it was awarded a $22 million contract in New York that includes the second phase of work at the Long Island Rail Road's Harold Interlocking and Amtrak's F Interlocking. The company got a $139 million contract in 2007 for the first phase of the work.
Tutor Perini said it has been notified by California transit authorities that it is the low bidder at $124 million for the Shasta County Interstate 5 Bridge project in Northern California. It said it expects Caltrans to award the contract in September.
Shares of Tutor Perini rose 61 cents, or 3 percent, to $19.27 in morning trading.
