LAFAYETTE, IN--(MARKET WIRE)--Jan 14, 2009 -- Ultimate Sports, Inc. (Other OTC:USPS.PK - News), a manufacturer and supplier to the recreational vehicle industry, recently announced that the company signed a letter of intent to acquire ePower Synergies Inc. Today, the company details ePower's core product offering, the RIDE Personal Transport Vehicle or PTV.
The RIDE is ePower's first fully electrical PTV. In an environment where the global demand for oil has created supply instability worldwide, the PTV segment surges as consumers are making fuel efficiency a priority in transportation. The RIDE's plug in electrical charging system reduces demand for foreign fuels and lowers pollution and greenhouse emissions.
Currently the RIDE has two versions: the Blue-RIDE and the Work-RIDE. The Blue-RIDE personal transporter (PT) has been designed specifically for law enforcement and private security forces needing enhanced visibility and presence for events, campuses, traffic and other areas heavily traversed by pedestrians.
The Work-RIDE is designed for industrial complexes in need of small, nimble means of transporting materials and people between locations. The Work-RIDE PTV provides indoor, outdoor and through-door cargo and personnel transportation without emissions or noise.
"ePower's expanding line of alternative energy green vehicles is what makes them so attractive in this environment," stated Ultimate Sports' Chairman, Dr. Mart Maassen. "ePower needs Ultimate Sports' extensive design, engineering and prototyping capabilities to meet growing demand for PTVs. We will also be able to achieve cost reduction by re-engineering ePower's product offerings."
"We are excited about what the combination with USI will bring," said Bruce Wood, CEO of ePower Synergies. "Their capabilities will bring alternative sourcing strategies to reduce cost allowing us to offer a superior product at a lower price point."
