Union Bankshares expects $58.8M from stock offer
Union Bankshares completes public share offering; regional bank expects to net $58.8 million

BOWLING GREEN, Va. (AP) -- Union Bankshares Corp. said Thursday it completed a public offering of 4.7 million common shares at $13.25 each.
The regional bank said it expects net proceeds of about $58.8 million after deducting underwriting discounts and commissions and estimated offering expenses. It said earlier it planned to use the money for general corporate purposes.
Shares of Union Bankshares slid 3 cents to $13.24 in morning trading.
