HAUPPAUGE, N.Y., April 10, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- United-Guardian, Inc., (NasdaqGM:UG - News) is sad to report the death of Dr. Alfred R. Globus, Chairman of the Board of the company, who passed away yesterday at the age of 88 after being in poor health for several months. Dr. Globus founded the company in 1942, and during the company's formative years had worked tirelessly to expand the company's technology and business opportunities. Although he had not been actively involved in the daily operation of the company for the past few years, he continued to serve as Chairman of the Board and remained keenly interested in the activities of the company.
