REDWOOD CITY, Calif., March 16, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Versant Corporation (NasdaqGS:VSNT - News), an industry leader in specialized data management, today announced that Mr. David Ingersoll has joined Versant in the position of VP of Sales - North America as of March 16, 2009. Mr. Ingersoll has over fifteen years of sales experience and was previously employed with Versant as Director of Sales from June 2001 to January 2006. He joins Versant from Penguin Computing, where he was VP of Software Sales. The Company's CEO, Mr. Jochen Witte, will continue to act as Versant's European sales executive.
