WOODSTOCK, NEW BRUNSWICK--(Marketwire - 11/05/09) - Later today, Patrick B. Stogran, Canada's Veterans Ombudsman, will be announcing the November 11th launch of an innovative public consultation initiative. "Making a difference in the lives of Veterans and their families is a cornerstone of this initiative," said Pat Stogran.

Pat Stogran will be making his announcement during the Army, Navy and Air Force Veterans in Canada (ANAVETS) Veterans Week celebration.

"Collaboration is essential to the work of the Office of the Veterans Ombudsman (OVO) and reflects a commitment to involve Veterans in the OVO's efforts," said Pat Stogran. "The OVO wants to ensure that Veterans and their families have access to programs and services that allow them the best quality of life possible, and that they are treated with the respect and dignity they deserve."

Consultations will include web-based approaches, town halls and speaking platforms supported by a comprehensive public relations campaign. Recognizing that not all of our stakeholders may be comfortable submitting their perspective via the Internet, OVO will include more convenient ways to encourage stakeholders to provide their perspective. In the end, this initiative will help the OVO to more clearly understand Veterans concerns and priorities.
