WWE's exec Shane McMahon to leave company effective Jan. 1 to pursue other ventures

STAMFORD, Conn. (AP) -- World Wrestling Entertainment Inc. said Friday that Shane McMahon, the company's executive vice president for global media, is resigning to pursue other ventures.
McMahon, the son of WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon, will step down effective Jan. 1, the company said.
WWE shares closed Thursday at $13.49.
