VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - March 16, 2009) - X-Cal Resources Ltd. (TSX:XCL - News) has completed a private placement of 10,000,000 common shares at $0.05 per share. The gross proceeds from the private placement are $500,000. Certain directors of X-Cal purchased an aggregate of 800,000 shares in the private placement. The private placement shares are subject to a four-month hold period.

A portion of the proceeds will be used to fund the Preliminary Economic Assessment of gold and silver resources at the Sleeper Gold Property, located in Humboldt County, Nevada.
