YORK, Pa., Jan. 28, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The York Water Company's (NasdaqGS:YORW - News) President and CEO, Jeffrey R. Hines, announced today that the Board of Directors at their January 26th meeting declared the quarterly dividend of $0.126 per share.

This is the 553rd consecutive dividend paid by The York Water Company. York Water, which is the oldest investor owned utility in the nation, has paid dividends for 193 consecutive years beginning in 1816.

The dividend is payable April 15, 2009 to shareholders as of record date February 27, 2009.
