Daniel Reuter is president of ZAP's first San Jose dealership, Ethical Approach Electric Vehicle Center (www.ethicalapproach.com) on Stevens Creek Blvd. Ethical Approach is introducing ZAP's popular Xebra sedan and truck as well as the new, larger XL Truck to area drivers looking to save money and help the environment.

"The time is right for this," San Jose Mayor Chuck Reed said during the Grand Opening ceremonies. "We welcome Ethical Approach and ZAP to the city." Ethical Approach is holding a three-day Grand Opening celebration from 10 AM to 7 PM, Fri and Sat, and 10 AM to 5 PM on Sunday. Ethical Approach is located at 3806 Stevens Creek, San Jose, California, or at 408-355-9940.

"We're pleased to be offering alternative options to consumers and businesses looking to get from Point A to B smarter, cleaner and better," said Ethical Approach owner Daniel Reuter. He added that visitors to the dealership during the Grand Opening Weekend should ask about his "word-of-mouth special."

Ethical Approach is part of a growing nationwide network of more than 50 ZAP dealerships and service centers. The three-wheel ZAP Xebra has become one of the best-selling electric cars and trucks on the market. This week "The Today Show" featured the Xebra among the "best of the best" for ways to go "green." Letters from Xebra customers rave about the little cars and trucks (see www.zapworld.com).

ZAP's vehicles target niches where electricity can be more cost-effective than gasoline while being safer for the environment. Electricity costs about two cents per mile and saves money with less overall maintenance. Xebras recharge at a normal 110-volt outlet and take about four hours for an average recharge. They reach speeds up to 40 MPH with an average range of 25 miles per charge and are popular for commuting, small businesses, multi-car households, as well as municipal, utility and corporate fleets. The 25 MPH XL Truck introduced this fall was designed to provide more payload for industrial and commercial jobs. ZAP has a wide range of electric vehicles, including scooters, ATVs, bicycles and motorcycles.

Founded in 1994, ZAP says Silicon Valley helped launch the brand when its ZAPPY electric scooter became a favorite on many dot-com campuses. A publicly owned company based in Santa Rosa, California, ZAP has delivered more than 100,000 electric vehicles to more than 75 countries.
