AAA: Ohio gas prices drop after 4 weeks of jumps

AAA survey: Ohio gas prices drop 6 cents after 4 weeks of increases

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -- Gasoline prices in Ohio have jumped about 12 cents since last week, with prices reaching as high as $4.16.

The average price for regular gas is $3.91 a gallon in Monday's survey from auto club AAA, the Oil Price Information Service and Wright Express. Last Monday's average was $3.79.

Ohio drivers were paying about $3.55 this time last year, 36 cents less than the current average.

Nationwide gasoline prices have jumped to an average of $3.90 per gallon, about 6 cents more than a month ago.

Analysts say signs of tepid demand for crude in the U.S. and Europe, along with slowing economic growth in China, are weighing on oil prices. They're also concerned higher fuel costs will weaken consumer spending and lead to inflation.
