Cisco Systems Climbs on Strong Results

Cisco Systems earned $0.48 a share, beating the $0.46 analyst estimate. Revenue of $11.9 billion also exceeded the $11.77 billion Street forecast. CSCO rallies 7.5 percent in the premarket.

Staples Inches Past the Street

Staples earned $0.46 a share in the third quarter, slightly better than the $0.45 expected by analysts. Sales missed expectations, but management reaffirmed full-year guidance, and that's good enough to give SPLS a lift of almost 5 percent in early trading.
