DALLAS, June 5, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Academic Partnerships (AP), one of the world's largest representatives of online learning, today announced that it has awarded 12 grants to researchers from seven universities to study the impact and effectiveness of online learning. These grants are part of AP's commitment to supporting the research conducted by partner university faculty members and increasing our collective understanding about the effect of online learning.
The research conducted by the AP grantees will provide important data relating to the retention of minority students; online discussion participation; andragogical design principles and processes; influential factors for learner persistence; the role of student peer review in learning effectiveness; priorities and satisfiers of online RN-BSN students in an accelerated program; the effect of academic coaching; fostering student retention and graduation; faculty transitions and student persistence; online discussion participation; technology-learning alignment in online program delivery; and student perceptions of online and hybrid learning models.

The studies will be completed over the spring and summer and final reports will be published in the fall of 2014.
AP will begin accepting grant proposals for the second round of its 2014 Faculty Research Grant Program this summer.
