Act-On Software Announces Record-Setting Fourth Quarter and Fiscal 2012 Company Results

Disruption in the Marketplace Continues With Act-On's Triple-Digit Revenue, Customer and Employee Growth

Marketwired

BEAVERTON, OR--(Marketwire - Jan 17, 2013) - Act-On Software, a leading provider of cloud-based integrated marketing automation software, today announced record results for Q4 and fiscal 2012. For year-ending 2012, Act-On's revenue was 298 percent of revenue in 2011. Act-On also experienced immense growth in customer and employee numbers in 2012. Act-On customer acquisition continued its torrid pace with the acquisition of 351 new customers in Q4 alone. The total number of customers at the end of 2012 was over 234 percent of the total number in 2011. Act-On doubled its employee base over the prior year, continuing to invest in the overall growth and momentum of the business.

"Q4 was a stellar quarter for Act-On, validating the company's exemplary performance and triple-digit growth in all dimensions: revenue, customers and employees, throughout 2012," said Raghu Raghavan, founder and CEO of Act-On Software. "And more importantly, the continuous increase in usage by our existing customer base clearly demonstrates the value and benefits our customers see from using the Act-On platform. I am honored to have their business and proud of our employees' commitment to providing our customers with an unrivaled product and service experience."

Key Highlights from the Quarter:

Customer Momentum

Act-On acquired 351 new customers in Q4 2012, and saw its customer base expand to over 234 percent of what it was the prior year. Recent customer wins include Bossa Nova Robotics, HydroPeptide, and Patten Industries, Inc. Act-On customers represent a wide variety of vertical industries including manufacturing, software, healthcare, education, and services. Product Development

Act-On grew its platform infrastructure by over 200 percent in 2012 to scale with the increased usage, and to support the hundreds of new customers adopting Act-On every quarter. Usage is measured by total number of customer emails sent, website visitors tracked, and social media engagements made within the Act-On marketing automation platform. The overall activity on the platform increased even faster than the growth of new customers, clearly indicating greater usage by customers over time.

Expansion of the Team

Act-On doubled its talent, growing its employee base in all major functional areas, and now employs over 150 people. Act-On appointed Tim Price vice president of enterprise sales, to lead its sales initiatives into larger enterprises and manage its channel sales program. Price brings over 17 years of online sales and marketing experience, most recently as senior vice president of sales and marketing at YesMail.

Marketing Momentum

In Q4, Act-On partnered with Forrester Research to garner insight into how SMBs are driving revenue in a tough economy. The results were used to create the DRIVE campaign, and to identify the seven key attributes of top performing small and mid-size businesses. The findings received great interest from the media and from the marketing and CRM industry with coverage in publications including EWeek, BtoB Magazine and DestinationCRM.

Industry Recognition and Awards

Act-On Software and its executives received accolades during the fourth quarter of 2012. Act-On CEO Raghu Raghavan and CRO Shawn Naggiar topped SLMA's 50 Most Influential People in Sales Lead Management for the second consecutive year; Act-On corporate was listed in Montclair Advisors 2012 SaaS Top 250 List and SiliconIndia's Top 10 Enterprise Software Company List.
