At their annual Global Conference on Executive Search on March 6th in New York City, the Association of Executive Search Consultants (AESC) presented two important awards to executive search professionals who have made significant contributions to the industry. The Gardner W. Heidrick Award was presented to Robert L. Pearson, Chief Executive Officer and Founder, Pearson Partners International, Inc., and the Eleanor H. Raynolds Award was presented to Betsy Gibbons, Senior Client Partner, Korn/Ferry.
The AESC’s Gardner W. Heidrick Award is presented annually to an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to the executive search consulting profession. The 2013 award was presented to Robert L. Pearson, whose 30-year career has contributed significantly to the growth and evolution of the industry. He demonstrated great creativity and business acumen when he took LAI Worldwide public—the first IPO for a firm in the recruiting industry. In Pearson Partners International, Robert has created and sustained a significant global organization, instilling a team-oriented culture among his firm’s partners to the benefit of every client. Pearson has consistently been a model of integrity for the profession.
The Eleanor H. Raynolds Award is awarded annually to a professional who combines excellence in executive search with a strong commitment to volunteerism. The 2013 award was presented to Betsy Gibbons, who, throughout the course of her 30-year career, has placed hundreds of executives and managers into a wide range of industries. While mining has been an especially noteworthy passion for Gibbons, she has always had a diverse professional practice and has delivered many dozens of mandates in financial services, healthcare, public sector and academia. Always alert for opportunities to make a contribution to her community, Gibbons has made an equally substantive contribution to multiple organizations in her community.
