Harris (HRS) will provide 81 ADS-B 1090 Extended Squitter receiver payloads to Aireon LLC, to be hosted on the Iridium (IRDM) NEXT satellite constellation under a five-year contract that will ultimately transform air traffic management with a global satellite-based aircraft tracking system. Iridium NEXT is the next-generation satellite constellation planned to start launching in 2015 by Iridium. Aireon is a planned joint venture between Iridium and NAV CANADA.
