Alaska Airlines (ALK) disclosed that it entered into an aircraft purchase agreement with Boeing (BA). The agreement includes orders for 50 Boeing 737 aircraft firm deliveries, with the ability to purchase an additional 62 aircraft through options and purchase rights. The firm orders include 13 737-900ER aircraft, 20 737 MAX 8s, and 17 737 MAX 9s. The MAX aircraft is the new engine variant of Boeing's NextGen 737 aircraft, the company said. The aircraft subject to firm orders will be delivered between 2015 and 2022.
