Alpha and Omega Semiconductor appoints King Owyang as a board member

SUNNYVALE, Calif. (AP) -- Semiconductor company Alpha and Omega Semiconductor Ltd. has named King Owyang as a board member.

Owyang is the CEO and executive director of Computime Group Ltd., a provider of electronic control technologies. Before that he worked in various roles — including as president and CEO — at semiconductor company Siliconix Inc. He has also worked in various technical and managerial positions at General Electric Co.

Shares of Alpha and Omega Semiconductor, which is based in Sunnyvale, Calif., fell 11 cents, or 1.3 percent, to $8.76 in morning trading on Friday. They have traded in a 52-week range of $6.95 to $10.45.
