Amazon’s Fire TV gets MLB.tv, Watch Disney and WWE

Baseball, wrestling and Mickey are coming to Amazon’s Fire TV streaming box, which just got a few new apps: Fire TV owners can now access full episodes of Disney Channel shows through the Watch Disney and Watch Disney Jr. apps, provided that the cable network is part of their pay TV subscription.

With the most recent update, the Fire TV also got an Animal Planet L!ve app, which promises live webcam feeds full of kittens and puppies, with the occasional penguin mixed in for good measure. A little less peaceful is the WWE Network’s app, which brings wrestling to the living room for $10 a month, and baseball fans are getting the MLB.tv app.

All of these apps are also available on other platforms, but Amazon was able to score one small exclusive for the Fire TV last week: The streaming box is the only place where you can currently play Flappy Birds Family — that is, until the inevitable clones pop up everywhere else.
