HELSINKI (AP) -- Global sports equipment maker Amer Sports Corp., whose brands include Atomic, Salomon and Wilson, says fourth-quarter net profit fell 18 percent to euro31.1 million ($41 million) due to a slow start to the winter season.
Revenue in the period was euro556.9 million ($730 million), down 5 percent from euro583.4 million a year earlier. Net profit in October through December in 2010 was euro38.1 million.
Chief executive Heikki Takala warned Tuesday that despite 2011 being a record year, the Finnish company faces because of a late winter and a "cloudy," global economical environment.
Amer Sports stock was up 2 percent at euro9.78 ($12.82) in Helsinki.
