DALLAS, March 22, 2014 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- By Mark Watts
Dallas based volunteer organization Dallas Feed The Children (FTC) recently announced a volunteering opportunity parntership with AMG Services, a design and development firm based in downtown Dallas. Dallas Feed The Children organizes volunteer opportunities that place people in volunteer positions with various charity groups impacting the health and well-being of children throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
According to the recent announcement from Dallas Feed The Children, employees of AMG Services will be offered the opportunity to volunteer twenty hours per month during regular work hours. During volunteer hours, AMG Services employees will be paid their normal salary, but instead of developing website and mobile applications, they will spend their time working in tutoring centers teaching science, math, and English skills.
"This is a way for us to make a contribution that helps both the community and our own employees," says AMG Services founder Gene Wollack. "If we just donated money to a charity organization, we would definitely help, but so much more is accomplished by giving our employees the opportunity to volunteer their time during work hours and directly see the results of their efforts."
Dallas Feed The Children announced that the partnership with AMG Services would be in full effect by the end of April, 2014. The organization is currently coordinating tutoring opportunities for the AMG Services volunteers.
"Most of the opportunities that FTC offers are based around nutrition and health care," says Gene Wollack of AMG Services. "To achieve the greatest impact, we decided to focus on education volunteering opportunities. We had a company-wide discussion and everyone who works here weighed in. Since we are a tech company, we believe that we should play to our strengths and share our love of science, math, and communication."
AMG Services has already begun offering employees twenty hours per month for volunteering with Dallas FTC, but volunteer opportunities for all employees will not be coordinated until later in the spring.
