Antler Agency Launches Efforts for Magners' Third Annual Comedy Festival

BOSTON, MA--(Marketwire -01/12/12)- Magners Irish Cider and Antler are again partners for the third annual Magners Comedy Festival to be held in Boston in January at five venues, according to Terry Lozoff, President and CEO of the independent experiential and digital marketing agency.

Antler, who is the marketing agency of record for Magners in the United States, has played a central role in producing, promoting and growing the annual Magners Comedy Festival in Boston since its inaugural year in 2010. One of the primary themes of the festival is the Comic Stand-Off where comedians compete for a chance to win a trip to Scotland to perform in the Glasgow International Comedy Festival.

For the 2011 festival, Magners wanted to go bigger -- expanding from nine comedy shows over four days to 20 shows over six days. Working with Magners Brand Marketing Manager Kevin Murphy, Antler launched the buzz by creating a national contest and digital voting application on Magners Facebook page (http://facebook.com/magnersusa) that allowed fans to participate in the selection of the Comic Stand-Off competitors. Nearly 50,000 votes were cast nationwide.

With the success of 2011's festival, the 2012 festival will hit Boston on January 25th. The 10 finalists have just been selected for the 2012 event and are showcased at www.magnerscomedyusa.com. With over 20 shows again this year, the third annual Magners Comedy Festival will feature national comedic acts such as Colin Quinn, Marc Maron, Eugene Mirman and the 2012 Comic Stand-Off.

The digital and social media marketing efforts Antler launched to support the festival during the first two years have won numerous awards including a 2011 OMMA for Best Integrated Online Campaign and multiple Hermes Creative and Summit Creative Awards.
