Yesterday, Samsung announced it would be delaying the debut of its highly-anticipated Samsung Galaxy S III for the Android (GOOG) OS. The quad-core behemoth was slated to be unveiled in Barcelona for the Mobile World Congress at the end of this month. However, the Korean manufacturer aims to launch the device within the "first half of the year," with some news outlets guessing "April."

With the Galaxy S III expecting to be Android's next flagship phone, that reportedly gives Apple (AAPL) roughly two months to put the final touches on its iPhone 5 before its unveiling.

According to a new report from DigiTimes, Cupertino plans on revealing the sixth generation of its iPhone line at its Worldwide Developers Conference this June. The date was cited in an interview with a Daiwa Securities analyst in the Chinese-language newspaper Commercial Times.

This launch estimate jibes with an earlier rumor from 9to5Mac which stated Apple would be returning to its usual summer release schedule after briefly abandoning it for the iPhone 4S' fall debut. The report also said the iPhone 5 will be sporting a much larger display -- at least four inches -- to fall in line with the growing preference for the larger displays on Android devices like Samsung's Galaxy line and Motorola's (MMI) Droid Bionic. The casing will reportedly also undergo a change and resemble the iPad's unibody aluminum architecture.

Although there's always speculation when it comes to Apple devices prior to their release, the general consensus seems to point to June as the iPhone 5 release date. With it, the Galaxy S III, and an LTE Windows Phone (MSFT) also delivered by Samsung before the summer, Research in Motion (RIMM) should be scrambling to make the second half of the year -- the announced launch period for the BlackBerry 10 -- as mind-blowingly incredible as possible.

RIM certainly has its work cut out for it.

I have the iPhone 4 and the iPad 2 and I love them. I will be upgrading both this year -- I just can't wait to see how they have improved on what, to me, is already perfection. With American companies producing devices THIS good, it's extremely unpatriotic to buy inferior foreign goods. God bless America.

With the iPhone 5, Apple with Siri will be head and shoulder above everyone else all by itself with immense global consumer and organizational demand. iPad 3 and 4 will solidify Apple's leads while Apple develops more groundbreaking offerings. Apple Siri will eliminate the onscreen electronic keyboards with drop down lists, the iOS apps will be fully conversational and using 2-way verbal speech.

I have been hoping there are more information from Apple on the Siri 2.0 release. The Siri beta works very well eliminating much of the use of the touchscreen and keyboard. I have not had any problems with typos or misspellings because there is no longer any needs now that Siri listens to my input and does the input for me. The calendar, contacts, emails, notepad, all the iPhone apps are so easy to use and hands free. The Apple Siri is exceptionally intelligent totally unlike all the voice commands or dictation, voice to text software. In fact. Siri behaves just like a human assistant.
