Applebee's to Offer Free Food Today for its 35-year Anniversary - Stocks in the News
Did someone say free food? DineEquity’s (DIN) restaurant Applebee’s will be offering consumers free food to celebrate its 35th anniversary, giving July 21st the name, “Taste the Change Day”.
The company stated in a press release, “In its 35 years, Applebee’s has grown to become the nation’s leading casual dining chain. To celebrate its birthday, Applebee’s has drastically reinvented its menu. All of America is invited to “Taste the Change” on July 21st”.
Applebee’s is giving away free appetizer plates to all dine-in customers today to promote its newest menu items. Customers who wish to partake in the event have the chance to choose between the Sriracha Shrimp and Churro S’Mores appetizer plates.
The Sriracha Shrimp plate usually sells for $7.99, and the Churro S’Mores appetizer usually sells for $3.99 at most restaurants. The offer is valid at all Applebee’s in the U.S., approximately 2,000 stores that are located in 49 states.
The chain says it will distribute around 2 million free appetizers until supplies last. The event page that is appears on the company’s Facebook (FB) lists that 78,000 customers have selected the “going” option, with another 4,200 selecting the “maybe” option.
With their free appetizers, Applebee’s may be the play for those looking for a fast-casual meal today, though consumers may want to go earlier than later in order to get their free offer before they’re gone.
Applebee’s parent company DineEquity (DIN) is currently a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold), though that rank may change as the fast-casual restaurant sector grows in popularity and the company implements changes to Applebee’s and its other chains.
