Arbella Insurance Group Named One of Boston Business Journal’s “Best Places to Work” for Sixth Consecutive Year

The Arbella Insurance Group (“Arbella”) today announced that it has been recognized as one of the Boston Business Journal’s “Best Places to Work” for 2014. The award program recognizes small, medium and large-sized companies with high levels of employee satisfaction and positive workplace cultures. This marks the sixth consecutive year that the company has been honored in the large business category.

Based in Quincy, Mass., the Arbella Insurance Group is a mutual insurance company that employs over 900 workers in the state and is affiliated with a network of approximately 500 independent insurance agents. The selected charities provide social services, health services or education, and the donation totaled $1,250,000.

Arbella also hosted a 25th anniversary party for all employees at Gillette Stadium, giving everyone a day off to celebrate their hard work that has built the company into what it is today. Employees were rewarded with a day of food, dancing, Patriots meet-and-greets, and thank-you speeches from the executive team.

Each year, the Boston Business Journal’s “Best Places to Work” program recognizes 60 small, medium and large-size businesses whose benefits and unique initiatives put them ahead on the employee satisfaction curve. To select the winners, employees from nearly 300 Massachusetts-based companies participate in an anonymous survey that asks about company benefits, atmosphere, values and loyalty. The results are analyzed by a third-party research firm, and the winners are broken down into three categories based on size.

The “Best Places to Work” rankings will be announced at a June 12th awards celebration at the Citi Performing Arts Center.
