Arbitration Decision between NAV CANADA and PIPSC

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Aug 27, 2014) - NAV CANADA today announced the conclusion of the collective bargaining cycle between NAV CANADA and the Professional Institute of the Public Service of Canada (PIPSC). PIPSC represents approximately 400 employees working in operations, engineering, computer service, physical science, purchasing, economic and social science specialties.

An arbitration board decision provides for a collective agreement that will run until April 30, 2017 and provides for wage increases of one per cent on each of May 1, 2013 and November 1, 2013 followed by a two per cent increase on May 1, 2014 and a further two per cent increase on May 1, 2015. There is a wage reopener for the fourth year of the collective agreement.

Also included in this agreement is the introduction of a new hire pension plan arrangement effective today plus other measures which, once implemented, would assist in sustaining the legacy pension plan for current PIPSC employees on a long term basis.
