COVINGTON, Ky. (AP) -- Chemical company Ashland Inc. said Wednesday that it has added Janice Teal to its board of directors.
Teal, 59, is a former group vice president and chief scientific officer with Avon Products Inc. She retired from the beauty products company in 2010. With the addition of Teal, the company's board now has 11 directors.
Ashland, based in Covington, Ky., is a specialty chemical company that makes products for in a wide variety of uses, from the automotive industry to personal care products to water treatment.
Shares of Ashland rose $1.18, to $75.66 in midday trading as the broader markets posted modest gains.
