Ashok Singh to Join Omnicare as SVP, Chief Information Officer
CINCINNATI, September 22, 2014 - Omnicare, Inc. (OCR) today announced Ashok Singh has been appointed Senior Vice President, Chief Information Officer (CIO) effective October 1, 2014.
Mr. Singh will be responsible for leading Omnicare`s Information Services organization, while implementing an information technology (IT) strategy that appropriately aligns with the Company`s current and future business objectives. Mr. Singh will report to Omnicare`s President and Chief Executive Officer Nitin Sahney.
"Ashok has a strong technological aptitude and brings extensive experience in healthcare IT leadership roles," said Mr. Sahney. "His proven ability to optimize the operational capabilities of technology will position Omnicare well for the continued advancement of our business objectives."
Most recently, Mr. Singh served as Senior Vice President, Information Technology for TransUnion Healthcare. Previously, he served as Senior Vice President, Information Technology, Aurora Health Care, where he led the deployment of the Epic Electronic Health Record system. He also served as Vice President of IT, Pharmacy & Corporate Systems at CVS Caremark.
Mr. Singh holds a bachelor`s degree in Technology from Indian Institute of Technology, a master`s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Tulane University, and a master`s degree in Management from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
