MIAMI, FL--(Marketwire -02/13/12)- The ASPIRA of Florida, Inc.'s (ASPIRA) Board of Directors is very proud to announce the appointment of George M. Cabrera as President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of ASPIRA. Mr. Cabrera is a dynamic and energetic leader who is deeply committed to ASPIRA's mission of helping economically disadvantaged students successfully complete high school and attend college. ASPIRA serves over three thousand students through its leadership development programs and charter schools.

Mr. Cabrera has a proven track record of accomplishments. As ASPIRA's Chief Financial Officer (CFO) since 2005, Mr. Cabrera increased revenues from $8 million to over $14 million for programs for students and their families. Mr. Cabrera also generated $5M in equity by securing loans through a nationally recognized New Market Tax Credit program to purchase and renovate three ASPIRA charter schools.

The appointment has generated much excitement among ASPIRA staff, Board, and other community members who have full confidence in Mr. Cabrera's leadership and vision.
