    • 4.94% (36-month, used car)

Auto loan rates held steady in this week's survey.

The average rates for 48-month and 60-month new-car loans stood pat at 4.15 percent and 4.24 percent, respectively.

This week, Honda announced the recall of more than 800,000 minivans and SUVs because of a defective ignition interlock mechanism. Over time, the mechanism can become worn, allowing the key to be removed while the transmission is not in park. If that happens and an affected vehicle's parking brake isn't set, it could cause the vehicle to roll away, potentially causing a crash. The models affected are the 2003-2004 Honda Odyssey and Honda Pilot models and 2003-2006 Acura MDX. For more information, Honda owners can call (800) 999-1009, and Acura owners can call (800) 382-2238.
