    Auto Loans

    • 4.24% (60-month, new car)
    • 4.95% (36-month, used car)

    After a big tumble last week, auto loans were steady in Bankrate's survey.

    The average rates for both 60-month new-car loans and 48-month new-car loans stayed put at 4.24 percent and 4.16 percent, respectively.

    Used-car loans were also flat, with the average rate for a 36-month used-car loan parked at 4.95 percent for the second week in a row.

    This week, Consumer Reports released its annual brand reliability rankings based on problems with vehicles reported by its subscribers. Toyota brands Scion, Toyota and Lexus grabbed the top three spots, with Mazda, Subaru, Honda, Acura, Audi, Infiniti and Kia rounding out the top 10. The highest ranking American brand at 11th overall was Cadillac.
