Stock futures were quiet throughout the pre-market trading session, leading to a quiet though higher open for the broader market. The averages began to drift up from their opening prices and built momentum after the Dow once again surpassed the 14K level. The day’s lone domestic economic report was a disappointment, as the NAHB Housing market Index had a reading of 46.0, missing the expected reading of 48.0. Despite the disappointment the averages remain near session highs, with the Dow up 47 points, the Nasdaq up 13 points and the S&P up 7 points.
