Earnings, Revenue Better Than Expected
Bally Technologies earned $0.78 a share in the fourth quarter on revenue of $245.8 million. Analysts had expected $0.77 and $244 million, respectively. Guidance was also strong. BYI climbs 10 percent before the bell on my tradeMONSTER platform.
Fusion-io Crushes Street Forecasts
Fusion-io crushed consensus with earnings of $0.09 a share and revenue of $106.6 million. Analysts had only expected $0.04 and $95.8 million. Management also said margins will keep improving and forecast revenue growth of 45-50 percent in the current fiscal year. FIO surges 24 percent in the premarket.
Ubiquiti Craters on Weak Guidance
Ubiquiti Networks reported strong results for the fourth quarter, but guidance was weak. Earnings will be no more than $0.17 in the current quarter, while analysts had expected $0.29. Revenue will be $70 million at best, way below the $98.4 million consensus number. UBNT plunges 37 percent in early trading.
J.C. Penney Goes From Bad To Worse
J.C. Penney's not showing signs of a turnaround yet. Its second-quarter loss was $0.37 a share, worse than the $0.25 expected by analysts. Sales of $3.02 billion also missed the $3.20 billion consensus estimate, and management said it won't meet its previously announced guidance for the fiscal year. JCP drops 10 percent in the pre.
