Barisan Gold Appoints Peter Akerley to Its Board of Directors
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwired - Feb 24, 2014) - Barisan Gold Corporation (TSX VENTURE:BG) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Peter C. Akerley to its Board of Directors.
Mr. Akerley is one of the founders and principals of the Erdene group of companies and has held the position of President and Chief Executive Officer and Director of Erdene Resource Development Corporation (ERD.TO) since March 2003. Mr. Akerley is a geologist with over 25 years' experience in the mining and mineral exploration business carrying out precious and base metal exploration in Canada, the United States, Mexico, Guyana, Mongolia and the Philippines. Mr. Akerley is also Chairman of Morien Resources Corporation and a Director of Temex Resources Corporation.
Mr. Akerley replaces Mr. Edward C. Rochette as a Director of Barisan Gold, who has resigned from the Board of Directors to devote more time to his other commitments. Barisan Gold wishes to thank Mr. Rochette for his valuable contributions to the Company and wishes him success in his future endeavours.
Barisan Gold also wishes to announce that 150,000 incentive stock options having an exercise term of 5 years and an exercise price equal to today's closing market price are being granted to Mr. Akerley.
