In June more than 200 senior business leadersfrom the cocoa, chocolate and retail industries, as well as influentialpoliticians and key NGO representatives, will meet at CHOCOVISION 2012 todiscuss challenges and opportunities in the cocoa supply chain. The firstof abi-annual series of conferences will take place in Davos, Switzerland fromJune5 to 7, and will explore new solutions for securing a successful future tochocolate driven by the theme "Balance the Challenge: From cocoa tochocolate -strategy, sustainability and success".
The conference will be opened by Andreas Jacobs, Chairman of BarryCallebaut AG,by Urs Rohner, Chairman of Credit Suisse Group AG, and by Barbara JanomSteiner,President of the Government of the host Canton of Grisons. After thisofficialwelcome, Sir Bob Geldof will take the floor and encourage the delegates toworktogether to face the biggest challenges affecting the sector.
Strategy: Drivers and directions
The first session of the conference, "Strategy: Drivers and directions",willfocus on current trends, challenges and opportunities in the cocoa andchocolateindustry. Topics will include the development of global consumer markets,theidentification of new chocolate consumption markets according to new tastepreferences, the impact of demographic changes and health regulations onchocolate consumption, the evolution of supply and demand of staple foodsandcocoa, and the role of prices.
Sustainability: Joining forces to close the gap
The second session, called "Sustainability: Joining forces to close thegap",will investigate how to reduce the gap between chocolate demand and cocoasupply, drawing on the lessons learned in other sectors such as the coffeeindustry. The president of a cocoa farmer cooperative in Ivory Coast willsharethe perspective of farmers; a panel discussion will compare the differentsupplychain models applied in origin countries; and the cooperation betweenindustry,NGOs and farmers will be analyzed.
Success: Proven progress
In the third session, "Success: Proven progress", case studies willdemonstratehow challenges can be turned into stories of market success. The speakerswillshare how they managed to keep growing in both developed and emergingchocolatemarkets as well as how they dealt with health-conscious consumers and otherrelated issues. Innovation will play an important part in this session, asitcan be used to address both health concerns and high raw material costs.

Bilbrey, President & CEOofThe Hershey Company, will demonstrate how to make the best out of achallengingsituation and ultimately be successful.
