Battery probe delays new 787s

Investor's Business Daily

Boeing (BA) notified 2 European airlines that deliveries of its new 787 Dreamliner would be delayed as investigators probe the safety of the plane's weight-saving lithium-ion batteries. Neither Britain's Thomson Airways nor Norwegian Air Shuttle say they have received new delivery dates. Dreamliners operated by Japan Airlines and All Nippon Airways experienced fires traced to the powerful but volatile batteries. Boeing shares fell 1.1%.
