Becton Dickinson taps former ADP exec as new CFO

Becton Dickinson says former ADP executive Christopher Reidy will become finance chief July 15

FRANKLIN LAKES, N.J. (AP) -- Medical equipment supplier Becton Dickinson and Co. said Monday that Christopher Reidy will become its chief financial officer on July 15.

Reidy, 55, will also become Becton Dickinson's vice president in charge of administration. He was chief financial officer of payroll processor Automatic Data Processing Inc. for six years before stepping down in November.

David Elkins stepped down as Becton Dickinson's CFO in November to become CFO of technology licensing company Round Rock Research. Suketu Upadhyay has been acting CFO since then. The company said Upadhyay, its principal accounting officer, will become its senior vice president in charge of finance.

Shares of Becton Dickinson added 58 cents to $99.25 in morning trading. The stock has changed hands between $72.68 and $102.72 in the past 52 weeks, and is up about 27 percent since the start of the year.
