BHP Billiton (BHP) CEO Marius Kloppers has decided to forgo a bonus for the year after writing down the value of over $3B of its nickel and shale gas assets, the Herald Sun reports. The company believes its assets will eventually create long-term shareholder value, adding that the $20B investment in U.S. shale gas remains the "right decision".
