Smart Phone Maker to Stay Independent

BlackBerry faced a deadline to sell itself today, but now the Globe and Mail newspaper says it's abandoning the planned transaction and will seek a new CEO! That change of course sends BBRY plummeting 19 percent before the opening bell on my tradeMONSTER platform.

Extreme Networks Earnings, Revenue Beat

Extreme Networks earned $0.06 a share in its first quarter on revenue of $75.9 million. Analysts had only expected $0.04 and $74.2 million, respectively. Guidance was also very strong going forward, and EXTR is popping 15 percent in the premarket

Canadian Solar Preannounces Strong Quarter

Canadian Solar said its shipped 460-480 MW of solar modules in the third quarter, compared with its original guidance of 410-430 MW. Gross margin was also much better than expected, coming in at 18-20 percent versus the initial 10-12 percent estimate. CSIQ climbs 5 percent before the opening bell.
